Lafaani, derived from the Urdu word for immortality, is rooted in the idea of continuity; of clothing that lives, evolves and gathers meaning over time.
Founded by Drishti and Rashmick, both postgraduates in Environmental Sciences, the brand creates soft utility wear for thoughtful living, blending design, craft and function.
At its core, Lafaani proposes a blueprint for a more considered future of fashion, where sustainability is woven into everyday life rather than spoken of as a trend.

Clear, Simple Impact Communication
Creating a delicate balance between saving the world and savouring it.
Lafaani was founded by Drishti and Rashmick, whose association began nearly a decade ago while pursuing Environmental Studies and Resource Management at TERI School of Advanced Studies.
Their academic journey exposed them to the interconnected challenges of ecology, livelihoods and resource systems across India. While their research took them into diverse landscapes and communities, a shared interest in craft, textiles and material culture became a recurring thread in their conversations.
Raised in homes that valued craft and handmade objects, both developed an early appreciation for the knowledge embedded within Indian craft traditions. What began as an interest in crafts & textiles gradually evolved into a deeper curiosity about where materials come from, how things are made and the systems that sustain them.
Following their studies, their professional paths took them through agriculture, water management, waste systems and community development. These experiences offered a closer understanding of supply chains, material lifecycles and the environmental realities that shape production. Lafaani emerged from the intersection of these experiences.
"Too often, sustainability is reduced to a fabric or a fibre. Sustainability is not a micro conversation about materials.
We believe it must be understood as a system, shaped by the choices we make as designers, producers and consumers every day."
